“From a young age I was always very creative, but the more practical side of me knew I had to make a living.”

For almost four decades Robert McCannel has enjoyed a successful career in the design, marketing and sales of premium quality fashion jewelry. Throughout this time, he has also held executive roles with  various national and global direct selling companies.

Upon graduating from Brooks College (California) with a degree in Fashion Merchandising, Robert moved to Toronto and launched Robert McCannel Toronto. This elegant fashion jewelry collection was carried by fine luxury retailers, duty free boutiques and department stores. For a few years, in addition to his jewelry design career, he was a very busy catalog model for Canadian department stores. During that period, he transitioned from modelling and jewelry design into graphic design and creative direction.

His work as a Creative Director led to an opportunity to become the chief jewelry designer and business partner in a fashion jewelry business called Property of a Lady. This collection was marketed through TV shopping networks in the UK, Germany, Canada and the United States.

In 2003, he moved to Los Angeles and founded a new company called Little Black Dress Fashion Jewelry Collection. LBD was a popular TV home shopping brand and direct sales company with hundreds of direct sales agents across the US. In 2009 the Little Black Dress brand was acquired by the world-famous Swarovski corporation.

In 2014-2015 Robert had the opportunity to promote and experience dozens of exciting jewelry, beauty and fashion brands as a Show Host on The Shopping Channel—a national television network in Canada.
